Hello.
I don't know what's been happening lately, but since sunday, i can't get internet but in the morning from my neighbor's connection.
I can only log on from like 7 am to 10am or so.
It says DHCP (Dynamic Host C. Protocol) is desactivated.
I can't log on my brother in law's connection cause it sucks, it's protected, he sucks, and i can't get a shit out of his connection cause himself won't let me.

I don't know if talking about stealing connections is authorized here, so ...

Can anyone help me out?
PM Eventually.
I'll only be able to read around 7 am (GMT+1) though.
Thanks in advance.

PS : I did format my C disk, not my D, and it only arranged lag, not the connections. None of them got any yellow dot.

EDIT : Right now that i'm on, it says DHCP is activated. It only says it isn't when it it's messed up. o.O

EDITē : Okay now going to school, sorry. Please post answers i'll still read them tomorrow or whenever i can get my internet back..

they've probably put restrictions on to stop people like you from wasting their bandwidth. if you are stealing their internet, then fuck off and buy your own you piece of shit.

There is no point in stealing/cracking others WLAN when there is no DHCP, because without DHCP you won't be able to use the internet properly. You might as well get your own router.

i dont know many about wireless internet and shit but maybe you can open cmd >ipconfig >ipconfig /release >ipconfig /renew .
i dunno if the problem is solved yet... you also can open your network options and activate DHCP

Mkay this morning i screened the properties of the connection when it would work, i set ipv4 and ipv6 as it was for this connection and now it works again.

I'll see if it still works in an hour or so.
Also, it's not my fault if i can't get my own router.
That's not my home and i can't get shit.

Wow...I'm disappointed with these posts. DHCP means dynamic host configuration protocol.

Quote:

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network application protocol used by devices (DHCP clients) to obtain configuration information for operation in an Internet Protocol network.

If they have DHCP deactivated that just means you have to manually configure your IP, Subnet, Gateway, and DNS Servers. Now, I'm just going to assume this will work since most of the class C networks I connect to are setup like this.

Go to My Network Places' properties. Double click Wireless Area Connection. Click properties. You should see a a box with a list of items, scroll down until you see Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Click on it and then click on the properties button. Under the General tab select "Use the following IP Address." Fill it in with this:

Quote:

IP Address: 192.168.1.110
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1

NOTE:

Make sure that the IP address you put in though isn't one that is already being used by a computer or device on the network.

Now click on "Use the following DNS server addresses." Fill it out like this:

Code:

Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1

Leave the Alternate DNS server blank, and then click ok. Click ok again on the Wireless Area Connection's box, and hit close on the Wireless Area Connection window.

NOTE:

Some class C networks are setup so the default gateway is 192.168.0.1 and the IP addresses are assigned 192.168.0.x. If that is the case just change your IP address to 192.168.0.x (x can equal any number as long as the completed IP isn't being used by any other computer or device on the network). You'll also have to change the default gateway to 192.168.0.1 (duh) and the Primary DNS server to 192.168.0.1

Thanks, useful post Surprised
For now it's still working.
Actually, earlier i set ipv4 and ipv6 on his adress, dhcp deactivated, and it worked for about an hour.
Then his connection got out of range, i think he actually restarted it. I set it properties back to normal, and when he came back it logged on it and DHCP was activated.

2hours and a half working.

Hope it'll keep going.

Why don't you ask your parents to get you internet? IT is more reliable, and Jsin, his brother has a right to do that shit. Besides, its his brother IN LAW not real brother, so his brother-in-law doesn't have to do shit for him.

Well, then, he could always use her credit card and buy some internet with that, and blame it on his brother-in-law if he gets in trouble.

Laughing Lmao.
Jsin is right. His parents never loved him lol.
He stinks, like, all the time. When he enters a room then leave, you can still smell him (shit) >.>

Well, about my connection, it messed up after 2 hours and a half yesterday.
My dad got it to work at night then this morning (it's been working for almost 2 hours at the moment).
Thing is that, yesterday, this connection went out of the networks then came back with a new IP and with DHCP activated.
I was on it but then it AGAIN went out of networks and came back but i couldn't connect on it.
Right now it's working with the first yesterday's IP.

So i'm asking : What the hell is happening?

Also, in france, you can't get two different isp connections for the same home.
Fortunatly even tho i'm french i'm moving back to the usa at the end of the year. FRANCE SUCKS.

They have probably put parental controls on you.. They prob went to 196.168.1.1 or whatever.. and restricted your time to 7-10 am.
