Why are 22" HD monitors around $200, while 24" HD monitors are around $400? (Both 1920x1080)

Am I missing something or is it really worth 2x the price for 2 more inches?

If all the specs are the same, then yea it's 200$ for 2 inches more.

You must also consider Contrast, warranty, response time and stuff like that.

Picture quality is independent from resolution and those other specs.
There are some good cheaper 24" monitors you can buy.

Well, to be specific I was comparing BenQ e2200 HD vs BenQ e2400 HD.

The only differences are
Pixel pitch: .276 vs .248
Display area: 531.36x298.89 (mm) vs 476.64x268.11 (mm)
Power Usage: 57W vs 45W

I would buy a 24" just to save the $200, seems rediculous to pay that much more for 2"!

The 24" has lower rite?
Well for photo shopping and such (also a photo shopper won't take a TN panel but w/e), this matters ALOT. Thats why 24" (and cuz of its size) cost more as a 22".
