Hey i was wondering if there was a way i could get a program like Winzip or something to let me open .RAR files without having to pay for it or try like a fre trail ar anything?

google Rarlabs, and download the free demo.
You can keep using that demo forever as it never expires, but it will just keep saying that you should register your program if you like it. So just get that, and keep using the demo.

7zip is superior IMO, and completely free. Native 64-bit support is a plus, as well as the impressive 7zip compression ratios.
It can also access a larger selection of compression containers/formats than WinRAR.

There's a guide in this forum for getting rid of the "purchase" crap in WinRAR.
You can always use 7-zip, like superweapons said. WinRAR right-click menus don't help if you're trying to keep everything as non-cluttered as possible (although you could always change how it is, I suppose).

WinZip is literally a limited trial, whereas WinRar can be used past its 40-day evaluation. If you're after very good compression, I suggest using 7-Zip as the last 2 posters said.
