Hello, many people assume this is fake because they've tried methods that failed and were much to handle. I will make it easy for you.
1.
Start by going to
START
RUN "gpedit.msc"
// if this does not work for you just skip to next setup it could be your OS.
2.
In tree view select
Computer Configuration
Administrative Templates
Network
QoS Packet Scheduler
3.
Click the foloowing
Limit Reservable Bandwidth
Enable it and set the '%' to '0%'
4. Save and close all
When that is done you should not be sharing bandwidth with applications you will only share a little bit (less than before).
Ok, the next thing we will do is optimize you registry to allow you to get the connection you deserve. Go to
http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php
and download TCP/IP otimizer. This program will configure your PC to have a faster connection.
1.
Run the program
Slide the bar to the desired connection speed (20,000).
Underneath your connection adapter tick off modify all adapters.
Click optimal settings above ok and click apply. Next click ok and reboot when asked.
You are done. you should notice a big increase in bandwidth most of it is unstable and will decrease but will range about 200KB more then your actual speed.
"I went from 2MB/s to 2.6MB/s"

Your tip will only help half of the user here as Group Policy Editor (Gpedit.msc) is for XP Pro and Vista Business + above.
XP home, Vista Basic and Home Premium don't have it.

Your "Boost your connection in minutes" guide did not work for me, there was no increase in speed.

Windows doesn't just magically reserve bandwidth for no reason, fyi. That option doesn't work how you think it does.
PS. since Vista, you should not ever mess with this shit. It will tune it entirely on its own. The only thing you could do is patch the limit of connections.

This doesn't do anything. There's nothing you can do to increase your internet speed.

I've got horribly slow dial-up. There is one thing that actually sped it up just a little. Has anybody here ever visited the OpenDNS website? It has very easy instructions with pictures. It sets your DNS server in TCP options.
208.67.222.222 for primary
208.67.220.220 for alternative
I went from 2.6kbps to 3.2kbps. Considering how incredibly slow it already is, that's a nice jump in speed. A little more than a 20% increase in speed. I doubt it would do any miracles though if you already have high speed internet.

you are imagining things, the only thing it will help is if your ISP's DNS servers are somehow throwing up all over themselves.

Like I said the top step doesn't work for everyone but if it does tune that and you will notice difference when downloading. Also that second step tunes it so that you get atleast an increase it works for some people it doesn't work for all.
Please do not flame this does not harm your system even on vista I own most OSes from 98 to Windows 7 and it works on all them even without the first part
Also those who think that if you are on a network with others it will mess them up... It will not your just getting your moneys worth.
FACT
Most ISPs will never tell a customer on how they can get faster speeds by a PC tuneup.
Also it's perfectly legal for a user to do this.

It works or it doesn't but yes it's safe no matter what... I have never had a problem been using it for a while now all my friends use it... let's just say you put a txt document on your desktop will it do anything??? FUCK NO. It will do what it is meant to do and in this case we want faster bandwidth

Okay I just did it and my internet speed didnt even change.
Should I delete it or just save it on my comp?
Btw, I'm suppose to be getting like 3k download speed and 500 upload speed, but all I get is 2.5k and 400.
And even when I did this, nothing change at all...
so gay
