1. Disable User Account Control and restart
2. Go to you C:\ and right click, then click on properties.
3. Click on Disk Clean up (let it do its stuff)
4. Remove whatever crap you got in there.
When your done, enable UAC and restart.

Yeah, they take long as hell, (if you take the full scan.)
Mine usually takes about 2.5- 3 hours.

It's because of the files you have. 960k 10 hours for you
I have 175k and it takes me 1 hour, But about the difference in scan time it might be the CPU speed cause mines 3.06 ghz

200GB shouldn't take that long actually.
When scanning try to set your AV as the highest priority so Windows will focus the CPU resources to that program itself.

See if your getting enough RAM i know vista alone uses like 1.3GB RAM + if you play games while scanning you dont leave much RAM for scanns also check your hard drive speed if its like 4000-6000RPM drive than yes its going to take long... get at least 7200RPM or 10000RPM like me... i have 1TB (multiple drives all 10000RPM) and its 260GB loaded it takes me about 2-3 hours to scann
