Okay, so i need some opinions with which you like the best...

As far as i know...

KDE is nice looking but a resource hog.
Gnome is some-what nice, and not such a resource hog as KDE.
xfce is FAST, some-what nice looking.

Kubuntu
A lot of programs are compatible with ubuntu also, and the K = KDE desktop.

But I would use GNOME for performance.

Well, the reason i am asking is not because i am picking a distro, it is because i want to make one... and choose the best parts.

I also enjoy KDE.

I voted gnome because it's easily skinnable, I hate the look of KDE, to me it looks too childish and shiny.
