why cant i hack these games?

the games im trying to hack are emperor battle for dune and command and conquer renegade, but when i go to scan for what im looking for i come up with nothing each time, 1 byte 2 byte 4 byte 8 byte etc.... this is strange because im not trying to hack on multiplayer just single player and i cant figure out why i cant find my addresses... so why?

When you don't find anything in exact scans, move to doing scans from
Unknown and decreased or increased value.
Also changed and unchanged.

Once you find the value, then you can figure out the multiplier or if it is doing an encryption.

Yes, but sometimes that doesn't work too, you must choose float or double sometimes instead of 4 byte.
