I have always had problems with ISO's ,probably because I suck hardcore.
Anyway I have the Windows 7 ISO file downloaded from windows themself. I am running Vista. I have PowerIso. I have burned the ISO to a blank disc, and changed my bios setting to let my DVD drive boot first. I can't tell what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone provide more instructions, or a step by step tutorial?

No warez or discussion about them.
Also try different discs.

If you are using the same OS architecture as the setup [X32 Vista, X32 W7 and X64 Vista, X64 W7] you can mount the ISO and run the setup like that.
It'll copy the setup files and restart your computer to continue the setup. No need for a DVD.
@Yaoi.
Windows7 isn't warez.
Its a free beta.

Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070241
I mounted it, but here is what happened :

Maybe it's because I had other things on the disc?

I thought it was a blank disk, why were you mounting anything..?
You should try redownloading and burning again. Either that, or if you still have the iso on your computer, I'm sure there's an MD5 hash you can check against on the web.

I did say a blank disc, but I then looked over it and discovered it wasn't blank. I'll burn it onto a real blank disk this time and see how it goes. Also I was told to mount it. I tried to boot it at the start up but it wouldn't work for some reason.

No.
Mount it and explore the disk.
Run Setup.exe from your OS.

Download the ISO from Microsoft. Burn the ISO to a DVD, and then put the DVD in your DVD drive. Restart the computer. Go into BIOS and change boot sequence so that your DVD drive is first. Exit out and you will be prompted with "Press any key to boot from DVD..."
Windows 7 is not warez. It's a free public beta.

Just download the trial version of Nero.
Install it and double click on your Vista ISO.
Nero will open automatically, ask you to insert blank DVD.
Insert your blank disc and it will start burning.
See it's that simple and you guys go out to find some ridiculous free BS software where it can't do shit.

i hardly believe that your burning program would let you burn an iso to a disc with stuff already on it...it would tell you that the disk is not blank. this is the point microsoft made on their site, if don't know what you're doing, don't do it because you're going to have to troubleshoot your own problems once you're running windows7. if you think burning the iso is the hardest part, then you've got a lot to expect.
if you can't follow this, DO NOT DO IT!
open imgburn (free application!) > select "write image file to disc" > select your iso, hit burn (the speed won't matter) (MAKE SURE IT'S A FUCKING DVD)
your disc is burned, stick it into disc drive, close disc drive, restart computer, hit any key when it tells you, come back and complain that you don't know how to partition or something stupid.
