It depends if the 8800GTS is sufficient enough for you. If you don't need it, why get it?

My specs are
E8400 OverClocked 3.6 ghz
4GB corsair ram...
vista ultimate 32
320gb harddrive.
EDIT: Well, I mean i do alot of video editing and would like faster rendering times, I;m not sure if the cpu or gpu will give more of a performance boost.

I think it's the CPU that does most of the work on video rendering. Not sure though. :S
If that's the case, I'd probably get a quad-core.

If you are video editing, or as me 3D rendering, a quadcore is a good choise.
I just built a computer for a pal, and I had it for a week to test it out.
CPU: i7 920, 2.66gHz @ 3.6gHz
GPU: 2x, GTX 260
RAM: 6GB (2GB*3, triple channel)
Worked like a charm for rendering, the i7 is really good, but expensive.
Regards Humper

Well i do play crysis and stuff, but i use adobe after effects pro and sony vegas pro. Right now rendering is fine but some times takes along time. So i guess a quad might help. im saving now dont have much but i should soon. =)

I think you should keep your dualcore, its a good CPU.
If you get alot money, get an i7.
Now take an GPU, but I wouldn't buy an new gpu if I where you.

I personally don't think an extra $700 or whatever for an i7 + mobo is worth it. OHH LOOKY HERE MAI I7 IS 30 SECONDS FASTER AT RENDERING OMGOMGOMG

I'd just take a quad core for your rendering. Your ram should be sufficent.

4GB is not a lot for the stuffs he's doing except for Crysis.
Quad would be the cheapest choice, but a Core i7 will be better for his needs.

But, what if I render 100 things everyday as part of my work. That means I save 3000 seconds everyday, or 50 minutes. 50 minutes of my time for a year easily makes up for the $700 investment.
