The computer I built has no sound.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135069

That's my motherboard and I have no idea what to do now.

I ran the disk that came with the motherboard and I think it installed everything.

When I try and open the volume control it tells me that there aren't any
mixer devices available and I'm not even sure I have the sound drivers.

I've been googling and I did the whole MY computer>Services>make sure it's on automatic thing.

Do I need new drivers? What the heck is a mixer device?

Forgive me, I've not had much experience with these things.

Edited: I also remember it saying something about Audio Codecs.

Update: New problem.

I Installed the audio drivers after 39874 google searches on my girlfriend's cell phone to figure out why it was giving me some 0ex000077 error and wouldn't install since the mobo disk didn't give me sound.
I had to disable windows high def audio in the device manager menu, then it installed. Still says no active mixer devices available and still has a yellow circle by the High definition audio thing. not the High definition audio bus, some other high definition audio thing. It won't let me uninstall, update, or do anyhting with the driver whether I have the main HDA thing (The hda bus thing) disabled or not. It says there is no driver at all for it. I've installed the recent drivers and it didn't help, the yellow mark HDA thing still says no driver.

The mixer device (Vista?) simply refers to the sound card, I believe. If all else fails, try going to the ECS website and finding the Realtek (in this case) audio driver and installing it. Here's a direct link to the driver.
Note: the download may be slow. I think it's a crappy server, use a download manager if you've got one.

Thanks, sorry. It's XP, and not a legit version. And it says server not found when I try and click that so I don't know what to do there. Still dunno what to do. ^_^;

Hmm, it opens a download dialog for me when I click the link. Whatever, here's the previous site from the download. The audio drivers for Windows 2000 through Vista (inc. x64 versions) are included, doesn't matter if the installation is legitimate.

The driver? It's most likely that's all. Whatever site that works is fine, most likely all the files are the same (besides languages/manuals).

In some cases, a third-party controller may be installed to change settings for surround and other things. That has to do with the manufacturer and type of the onboard sound card. For instance, my ASUS P5Q PRO came with the utility. I just don't use it since I only (normally) use two-channel sound.
If sound works, you can just ignore all the rest.

Alright, thanks a lot. I downloaded them and shoved em on my Flash drive. I'm going to try and install it as soon as I get home. If something goes wrong, I'll be back. XD

Nope, not working. Q_Q I'm ready to stomp my computer into the ground.

Wow, I have the same motherboard, and got the same exact problem, except it was the second time installing Windows on the same computer. The first time, I had the disk and everything worked fine. I would contact ECS if I were you, I would have except I bought this mobo when I was in Egypt :S.
I ended up buying a PCI sound card...I seriously have no idea how to fix this. Sorry...=<

Wow! Really? It's been almost a year since I bought the card and I wouldn't return it for a problem like this because then I'd have to go through all the crap I did to get this thing together in the first place and install everything. T_T I'll see about how much sound cards are though if I cannot fix this.

Well...I went to Best Buy and found a 5.1 card for 25$. It's just as good as the onboard. I bet you could find a better deal online, if you want to wait for it to be shipped to you.
EDIT:
Here, I found it for you.
Link.

Thanks, I'm going to look into that this weekend. I'd have to get a PCI because my video card is using the only PCI-E slot in my mobo. Still looking for people to solve this problem though.
