two years ago i bought my computer, with a 160gb Western Digital HDD. after about one year my hard disk started doing problems when copying files, and eventually stopped working. but i had a 3 years warranty, so i got a new one instead.
a couple of months ago, my new hard disk started doing other problems. sometimes, the hdd light starts being on almost non-stop, and the whole computer is being extremely slow (it can take up to 1 min to right-click or open a file), until i restart my computer. yesterday i noticed that a certain file on my computer also cause the problem above if i open it. this file also cannot be copied (even from cmd using copy *.*), but it can be deleted.
i was wondering if this problem is caused by softwares (kaspersky antivirus, faulty drivers, memory leaks, etc), or is my hard disk going to stop working soon. i have a backup of everything i need, but does someone here know how to solve this problem?

| It could just as easily be the software and "Windows rot". If you really want to know which it is, keep your backups and reinstall Windows on the formatted disk (or have a live Linux distro like Slax on USB, have it copy to memory, and see if it takes a long time to read from disk).
