Dunno why but I think this laptop has google's preferences cookie locked so safesearch is always on.
Solution?

Same thing happen's to me...
You save your preferences and later on the preferences reset...
i think you need to have a Google account have it signed in....

If you delete your cookies, cache or something like maybe that'd reset it? If you run something like CCleaner it's likely.
Anyway it's not that bad if it's on. Unless you're looking up what I think you are. If that's the case then find a decent site.

Nope it's not that, when I search (for example) "Hentai" it will say:
Google SafeSearch is ON
The word "hentai" has been filtered from the search because Google SafeSearch is active.
So I go to preferences and it's set to Strict, which isn't default.
I change and save settings, but it's still on strict.

Same thing when you clear cookies/delete the specific one?

Are you logged in to gmail?
If so, then your settings is on that account.
Otherwise run CCleaner, and then all your cache and cookies will be cleaned = no more filter.
