Hey. Some time ago, i posted a list of hardware which i wanted to buy, but other stuff got in the way.
Seeing as NVIDIA came out with their new 295, generally all their GPU's must have deflated a bit. So now i want to know, if you can find me some decent hardware, to a decent price.
The price cap is ~850 USD.(Then it is easier for you to find some decent prices, i live in denmark where we use DKK.)
The games i would like to be running will be
Fallout 3
Crysis WARHEAD
Need for speed Undercover
CoD4
Farcry2
It is generally those, and i would love to see if you could get some equipment that will run them on highest settings, but it doesnt have to be.
Every contribution is appreciated.

Normally if somebody wants something other than ATX form factor, they'll specify.

Not really as they won't what's good for them.
To the OP, you need to give more info.
e.g. The 850 is only for the system I already have monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
And what is the currency symbol for Denmark?

What more info do you need?
The currency is Danish Crowns(DKK), like I posted in the original post.
Also, thanks for the rig you suggested, seems pretty good.
I will do some research on the exact same hardware, to see what result I get in danish currency.
I looked at some other CPU's, and i found this C2D E8400 3.0 GHz for 164.99USD, would that be efficient enough? I am thinking about overclocking it to 3.5GHz or something. Also, would that be possible?

FYI, you'll have to find another site to order from.
Does Newegg.com ship internationally?
Newegg.com does not currently ship internationally; we only deliver to locations within the United States and to Puerto Rico.

The E8400 is a great dual-core choice, lots of games still can only take advantage of two cores. As for overclocking, you can easily get to 3.5GHz (without even touching voltage). I think I took mine past 3.6 before changing voltage. Right now, it runs very cool with a Big Typhoon VX at 4.0GHz as a normal clock.
If you're going to overclock, that's fine. If you're going to change voltage, you might want to buy an aftermarket CPU cooler over the stock cooling. That'll run you a little under 50 bucks for a good one, and cooler temps are always better.

I'm not into all that overclocking thing. How much could i possibly get it op to on air? (~4GHz?)
Also, what does that voltage thing mean, and why do you have to change it?
Big Typhoon, I guess that is a CPU cooler?
Last; "You might want you buy an aftermarket CPU cooler over the stock cooling." What do you mean by that?
Sorry for not understanding, english is not my first language, and I'm also quite a bit tired. I just want to get the things done for this rig, so i can order the stuff.

You can go a ways further than 4.0GHz on air. I haven't tested my chip, but I'm sure I could clear 4.4 stably. You can only push a CPU to a certain clock before it needs more power to go faster. That's where voltage comes in. By the way voltage translates to heat. Increasing voltage leads to an increase in core temperature.
The Thermaltake Big Typhoon is, indeed, the CPU cooler I'm using. An aftermarket CPU cooler is basically any heatsink/fan that isn't the one that came with the CPU (the stock cooler)

OCing doesn't decrease the life of the processor, as long as you keep the temperature low.
I would get the Q6600 because more popular games are using 4 cores, and not just Intel demos like Lost Planet. GTA IV and Far Cry 2 are examples of that. Also, the Q6600 will be 50% faster than the E8400, even when they're both OCed, at applications that are multi-threaded. DivX, Xvid, WinRAR are all multi-threaded.
