Radeon HD 4850
Intel c2d E8400
(any other specs necessary?)

I was thinking about this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009145

Good price, size, and reviews. But I'm not sure if Acer is a good brand.

That's a little over budget.

But if anyone can confirm this is a good monitor, I could save up for it.

You could check out this ASUS, which is $10 over budget, but is a good all-around monitor and offers 1080p support.

Just a "little over" the budget, although, it's worthwhile for the money & for the performance & quality you get, it's excellent for the price!

Might be me, but I'd rather get a full 1080p HD 21.5". Depends how you use it, I suppose. I do like 1680x1050 as a resolution..

Planning on getting a new monitor myself, but can't seem to find an answer as to this "full HD" moniker.

About this "Full HD"

1. Full HD means the resolution is 1920x1080.

2. 24" and above except 30" has a resolution of 1920x1200.
If it's set to 1920x1080 then it's not qualified to be called "full HD"?

3. Are those "Full HD" monitors really producing 1080p content or a marketing hype? Since 16:10 monitors wouldn't they have a better chance of have true 1080p content?

16:10 creates black bars for 1920 x 1080p content.
1920 x 1080 is Full HD. Shocked

I had been under the impression that Full HD only meant that a monitor is able to handle at least the HD resolution (720/1080 vertical scan lines). Prove me wrong, though.
