I decided to reformat my laptop, with the Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 disk I have used on 3 different machines, with no error. I was going to use it for the 4th time, and when it reaches the "Finalizing Setup", I get a BSOD. I have tried everything. Deleting the C: partition, create new, formatting the C: partition. I have a D: partition, but I'm not happy about losing it, since it has alot of important documents, games, movies and stuff like that.
If this helps; the BSOD I get, gives me this error;
"IRQ_LESS_OR_EQUAL". I've googled with my dads computer, and I came to the solution that the error means "A driver is corrupted" and anything related to that.
My question is;
Will a computer store fix my computer, if it has illegal files on it? (D: partition.)
Can they report my ass to the police, and tell them that I'm downloading?
Can they say no to a possible fix of my laptop, if I am giving them the disk that I use, which obviously is illegal?

About your questions, it probably depends who you're working with.
I remember somebody posting a while back that their friend had [illegal] pornographic content on their hard drive and Geek squad charged $500 (may or may not be true). Illegal programs/music/movies, who knows. They can do whatever they want, it's all a money game for these people. They can certainly report those sort of things to the police. And the OS disk, the larger companies like Geek squad will probably refuse it, if only to make you pay for a copy from them.
Basically, everyone sucks now. If it's possible to do it yourself, it's worth it.

I have tried everything I could think of, and stuff I found on the internet.
The shop I am taking it to, is a little shop, and it's some people with a other ethical(?) background owning it.
I concidered deleting both partitions, and then give Fujitsu Siemens their crap back, then they can send me a new one.
Also, is it possible that you guys can hook me up with a fix?
The installation disks I have is;
Windows XP Pro SP2 (Danish)
Windows 7 Build7k
Windows 7 Build7k22
Windows Vista 64bit all-in-one (Danish)
Windows vista 32bit all-in-one (Danish)
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit SP1 (English)

If you live in a truely free (libre) country, whether your software/data is illegal should have nothing to do with your hardware repairs.
Nobody gives a crap in Hong Kong.
Check if you live in a free country.

I got IRQ errors on my old old old Pentium II when I screwed up installing a PCI card which was possible then.
Have you plugged in anything more than you need to? Remove everything you don't need.

It's a laptop, if you read the title.
The only thing I have inserted, is the charging cable. I've turned off my webcam and my wireless connection.
