| hi i have read ALOT of articles about how to crack wep passwords but most of them are for linux. i was wondering if anyone knows a way to crack it with vista. thanks

| There was JUST a thread on this. It's actually quite easy to boot into a linux live distro and follow an idiot-proof step-by-step guide you find on the internet. Who'd 'a thunk it? xd

you're gonna want to use BackTrack, which is Linux-based, but easy to use and you can run it right off of the CD. Go to remote-exploit.org (I think), and read the tutorials for noobs there. I cracked my home network in about 10 minutes (that's why you should never use WEP, lol)
p.s. your network card might not even be compatible (mine wasn't). if you really want to get into this stuff you should buy the ones that they recommend of that forum, cuz it makes it 10x easier

| well my wireless card is compatible but i downloaded backtrack 3 and i dont even know how to open it up. anyone wanna help me ;D?

You burn the .iso file to a CD and boot from it.
Google for tutorials on both.
