Does anyone know why Maplestory still lags in my brand new Quad-core desktop using vmware?

Code:
Host:

OS: Windows Vista home edition SP1
HD:500G
Mem:4G
processor(s): 4

Code:
Vmware settings:

vmware OS: Windows XP home edition
HD:10G
Mem:300mb-1G(tried all)
svga.vramSize: 64mb-128mb(tried all)
processor(s): 1-2

Results:
The XP under vmware runs very smoothly without maplestory.
but when i run maplestory, they start to lag a bitas soon as i start to walk around with my mouse and keyboard inside maplestory window.

but i can still move my mouse/type keyboard with no lag when i switch out of maplestory window.

vmware task manager status:
22% CPU 25%memory

any ideas/suggestions?

How much overall RAM do you have? And how much are you giving to VmWare, unless that's what you're referring to by "Mem"

does it matter? it seems to me vmware is using its own graphic card for my XP

Maplestory needs hardware acceleration. If you really think about it, there's no other bottleneck that would explain the symptoms you're having.

I have a 8800 GTS 640mb and maplestory runs beyond smooth in VMware, even with 2 maple at once... so you may need a more powerful graphics card, which you should have bought anyway if you are running windows vista.

I only have a core 2 e6600 (not quad core) and 2 GB of RAM. I give VMware 336 MB of RAM at minimum (though it will run at max speed with 512).

Give it more hard space, roughly around 20 gigs.

1 processor
512 ram
gfx: 64 should fine.

these are my settings, i have around 3 machines on at once.

Hence with 3 machines and 1 ms on host, plus another comp, I did the referal thing, with 5 chracters at once.

10 gigs is just fine. 12 gigs at most, but as long as you can install maple and everything, extra GB will only potentially improve load times. Since he experiences graphical lag when trying to move around, I am most definitely sure it is a graphics card bottleneck.

what is your graphic card?

anyway, i have a question regarding multiple vmware.
when i clone my vmware, should i use full clone or linked clone.
and does it matter?

I'm just basing this on my own experience, ... graphical lag/delay was what i experienced with default hard space, buh once i increasd it, it went smooth.

Edit : Oooh, Gefore 9800GT ..
I do linked clones, buh i don't really see the difference, when i tried full.

Use a full clone. A linked clone will give you degraded performance and the only benefit is extra hard drive space.

Oooh, .. thats the only difference ? Well then if it runs smooth with linked clone, i'm satisfied.

Edit: Bizzaro, let us know how it goes, so I may have it for future reference.

It's not the only difference, but it's the biggest difference. But if it runs smooth then you should be satisfied... however if you were wanting to run many VMs then you may possibly experience lag. You do have a good graphics card though so that's mainly why it runs smooth.

tx guys.

but first i need to fix the lag problem before attempting any clone :S
i guess i will try to add more HD space on vmware before i can get my hand on a better graphic card :[
