A Code :

alloc(thisishard, 1024)

How do u find out how much memory it needs? How do u decide on the "1024" ? What happens if i just put like 1000? Is is based on what "thisishard" does? Like mov a [b] = 4 bytes of memory?

you'll have to guess yourself, it's usually better to allocate more than you need than less, but usually alloc(thisishard,4096000) should be enough for anything

Ooo I see. Thanks

Will anything happen if u allocate too much memory? Lag or anything? Is there anyway to like estimate? A method of some sort?

you can estimate it a little. if you have arround 500 lines of code you will need arround 500*4=2000 bytes (estimate assuming each instruction has a average of 4 bytes when assembled)

Allocating too much isn't a too big problem. It gets reserved and only actually allocated in ram when you access it (in 4kb chunks, so don't worry if you write one byte it'll imeadiatly eat up 1 GB ram) Problem might be that the game you've injected in might run out of memory, but the chance of that happening is pretty smal (a process can have up to 2 GB ram...)
And also don't worry about slowing down, that memory that you don't use will be paged out to the swapfile anyhow freeing the system ram for the game

Oh I see.So Basically one move/compare/whatever is 4 bytes? Than how do u reach 1024? Isnt that like around 200 over functions?

One last question. What languages are useful besides C++ and Assembly?

Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to help me with my questions.

it's more a estimate, some instruction are only 1 byte long, others 2 byte, 3 byte, 4 byte, and some are 16 bytes long. It depends on your code. But average is 4 bytes. and 1024 is usually more than enough for a script you write.

And delphi is a pretty nice language to know as well, not many people know it, but it's usefull if you want to understand a certain piece of software you might use fequently

Ok got it thanks a lot.

What programs are usually written in delphi? And is there anyway to extract a .exe? How do u tell if it is written in C++ or delphi? The end result of both is a .exe right?

how do you mean extract a exe? a exe is just binary code that gets interpreted by the cpu when ran.

But usually you can determine if something is made in c or delphi by looking at the generated code and strings. If it cotnains resources common for delphi it's made in delphi
