Well in my experince they are a great computer, like they can run anything you probably need, BUT i hope you have money to burn. They are incredibly expensive, you could probably build one for like 1000$$ and probably make it better. But if you have an extra 4000$ laying around and dont care go head get monster. =) Hell eBay has cheap alien ware, craigslist if you have that were you live. I hate to say it but ibuypower has good cheap computers but the reviews of that site are really mixed up. I cant really say if ibuypower is good or not yet i ordered from them recently. Ill put in my opinion some time today or later.

They aren't the best pre-built PC, but they are very high quality machines. They are very overpriced for what you get though.

Alienware are great:
- Good support
- Overclocked versions
- Good warrent
- Custom computers
- Nice looking
- New computers all the time
- Changing prices (lower when a new model gets in)
Tho you have to pay for all that which mean you get alot higher price,
thats why I always build mine.
Regards Humper

You should always just go to build your own computer. I find it sometimes a lot cheaper, maybe because you don't get all that extra stuff, but I don't really need it.

What about the whole rent a computer and pay monthly payment thing? $100 a month for their best computer might be fun for a couple months.

If you're going to get a prebuilt computer go to cyberpowerpc and pick your components. It's cheaper than getting from an OEM and you know all your parts are retail. However, I recommend you put it together yourself, idiots have done it.

alienware is just buying name... think about it like tihs
you have 2 nike shoes, one dude rips the nike logo off and stiches it smoothly so you'll never know it was there, (but you do just cause you saw him do it)
then the other shoe with the logo is sold for $100, the shoe without is sold for $50,
now alienware sells you that computer for $5000, you can build one for $3000,
customer support... meh

And you could buy those shoes in China for $3
But if people knew that, they would laugh in your face.
I read somewhere that their cheap computers are only slightly more expensive than if you built it yourself. As for the $7,000 one, I'm sure you can build that for alot less though.

What are the specs/add-ons for the cheaper ones? You could check the prices on newegg for each part.

Gonna do it now 'cause I'm bored.
Edit: They don't list the prices for each component :/
Only the price for upgrading each part to a better one.

you could get an average. add up the price for each part from newegg and then compare it to the alienware price. i wish we had newegg in australia.

Either that or lowest. I have no idea what kind of memory (example) they use. Could just be cheaper, lower-performance DIMMs.
