I have 2gb of RAM and its fine...
I just ordered 2x 2gb (+4gb RAM) and my question is...
Will vista (64bit) recognize all 6gb?

These kids obviously don't know what the fuck they're talking about. If you have four slots, and less than four sticks of RAM, put them all in.
YOUR COMPUTER WILL RECOGNIZE THE RAM, IF YOU PICKED THE CORRECT KIND

He is trolling and should be banned.
Code: |
<Billenium> Does windows vista 64bit recognize 6gb of RAM?
* mauruli (i=mauruli_@gateway/tor/x-dd02e12a61f9ce7e) Quit (Client Quit)
<FuriousRage> yes
<hentaixp64> Billenium, up to 128GB iirc
<FuriousRage> hentaixp64: only 128gb?
|
I double checked in freenodes #windows channel.

Yeah, Vista x64 server editions/enterprise or something can recognize 128GB. However, Vista Home Premium x64 only recognizes 8GB at the most. So, yes, it should work.
Mix and matching RAM may cause problems. Sometimes, you can just rearrange them to get them to work correctly, other time, not.

Damn crazy people, if you got vista ultimate 64bit, you will be able to
put up to 128GB, so 6gb won't be a problem.
I think home has 32GB as max and premium 64gb.
My brother got a rendering computer with 12gb @ vista so you'll be fine.
Regards Humper
