Well it's true,

Exams for year 9 are over and im offically happy having gone out with good marks. To celebrate im goign to reformatt my computer bymyself and hopefully over the holidays start to learn some visual basic cuz i need to learn it next year. So i want to do a fresh start cuz my computer is starting to fckin piss me off atm cuz its sooo laggy. Heres the specs of my computer

Philips 200WS moniter
Logitech G15 Generation 2 Keyboard
2Hgz, 2GB of Ram
AMD Sempron Processor 3300+

(not sure how to check my videocard)

Also im planning to use a version of Windows XP that got sued from microsoft because it was so good (apparently.) It's been installed on the two other computers in the house and they are crappier that mine and they all boot alot quicker.

Some of the programs that I'm going to be running on my new computer are the following;

GAMES:
Halo Custom Edition
Spore
Age of Empires 3
Combat Arms
Tales Runner
Grid
(hopefully Farcry 2 and Fallout 3 and team fortress 2 and Cod4)

SECURITY:
Nod32 that expires in 2050
thats about it o.0

PROGRAMS:
Windowas enterprise edition 2007
Windows live messenger
ProDesktop (designing program)
Mozilla Firefox with pimped up mods
Rocket Dock
Not sure What else

AND NOW THE BIG QUESTION T_T

How do i reformatt o.0??

Iv got the cd for microsoft but wut do i do now. Put in in abd set the bios to boot off the cd. If so then i installed it what drivers would i need to put onto my computer in orfer for it to work successfully cuz i don't want my dad to help me in this reformatt. Iv managed to get hold of some programs and id like your opinion on wether its a good choice or wether there is aneasier way to install all the drivers and stuff ect.

Id like your opinion because this section of this website seems to be one of the more sensible areas thanks =]

Quick guide:
1 ) Boot off the Windows disk.
2 ) Choose new installation/whatever.
3 )Delete Partitions (At this point, your data is deleted)
4 )Make a new partition, whole hard drive.
5 )Let Windows install.
6 )Install drivers for
-Motherboard (Use CPU-Z for this)
-Graphics Card(And GPU-Z here)
-Anything else(Such as keyboard, mouse etc)
7 )???
8 )Profit

Look in CPU-Z for the motherboard model name, Google it and you should find the manufacturers website, It'll have the driver.

For your GPU, get the model name(not brand). i.e 8800gt, not XFX 8800gt. From this google and find whether it is AMD(ATi) or nVidia. Then go to the AMD or nVidia websites and download the drivers(You should be able to do this easily).
Then collect all your other drivers(G15 comes with the drivers on the disk), stick em on a USB, then do what I said before.

Are you planning on buying a new pc?

Reformatting your old pc does not magically improve your specs.

You will not be able to run fallout 3 or farcry 2 with that CPU.
(Not on a 'playable' framerate...)

50-100 (dollars?) will not be enough.

Your PC is too old Rolling Eyes
You have a motherboard with socket 939.

It's extremely hard to find a socket 939 CPU from a shop,
since they no longer manufacture them.

You would most likely need to buy a new motherboard, new RAM,
new CPU and a new GPU.. And probably a new PSU.

Well it really depends..

You should go to the local store and tell them you are looking to build
a PC that can run Fallout 3 and Farcry 2 etc..

I'm sure they can guide you and help you decide.

(That part list is very messy, and only tells the part/model names
I really have to go now so I didn't have the time to google every
part to make sure they are compatible with eachother...)
