why use GPU-Z gpu means graphics processing unit so it obviously monitors your graphics card performance. Just go into control panel, click sounds and audio devices, and it should show you your audio device or controller, mine says like Creative labs Audigy SE watever. try that

That only shows info about your graphics card, not sound card. Open DxDiag, and post a screenshot of the sound tab. (Start>Run>DxDiag>Sound tab)

I said CPU-Z not GPU-Z
Upload a picture of the 'Mainboard' tab in it, or PM me the picture and we'll get you what you need.

Windows Key + R, run "dxdiag".
Click a Sound/Audio (probably only one for you, anyway) tab and post screen.

that gives generic information. for my laptop it simply states Realtek HD Audio Output... if you want more information about your system you use CPU-Z (as SF stated) so that you can see the model of your computer, go to the manufacturers website, and be presented with all the drivers (or at least most) that you'll need.
just for all of you who are quick to respond with "go to the sound tab", without even taking a closer look.

I completely agree with this. Please, think before you post. He needs to know what sound card he has...why? Most likely drivers, and most likely when you don't have the drivers for the card installed it'll show up as unknown device.
