Cheat Engine

I've had this problem with a couple of games now, 2 of those are Joint Task Force and Warhammer 40k Dark Crusade.

let's take the money that raises slowly or the health of the units, I try to scan on the numbers and then on what it's changed to but it never finds anything, I've tried with increased values, unknown values, Foats, Double's, bytes, 2 bytes and all bytes there are... it just never finds anything....

Anyone here have any idea how or what's the problem?

I'm pretty good with cheatengine and have made a few trainers but these 2 games just elude me.

you mean it finds 0 adresses or just to much?

If it's to much you'll have to continue for a while Razz

Also try using the "same as first scan" value when searching unknown values. And throw in a few "unchanged value's" to.

no it finds a few at first, then on the second search it doesn't find anything.... just turns to 0.... if you take JTF for example..... the main hero can have say 180 hp... so I search for 180 in any type of value. then he gets hurt and has 150, so on the next scan I search for 150 and it tells me it finds 0 adresses.

If I take the rocket launcher and search for it I only find the adresses that go to the visual showing of the ammount of rockets and not the adress that actually has the rockets.... it's like there are pointers that change the values after each shot to something way beyond the ones of the search..... or they don't like the debugger that CE ads.... Warhammer sometimes crashes when I try to ad the debugger to find what accessess a pointer...

this may seem weird but try unknown initial thing or what ever if not you need another tool then cheat engine

I kind of also have that problem...but in a different game.

I'm a noobeh user of cheat engine so I'm not sure what's wrong.

But initially, it's like yours. See, my game is this flash game slot machine I play in the casino of one of my forums. I can see the money I have, but I when I search the adress, it's either too many or 0. If do land a lucky search of about 12 entries of adresses or something, then I change the value of my money, the adresses I got doesn't change...

Oh yeah. I tried almost every kind of search type and I tried EVERY kind of value type. I even tried unknown then decreased/increase (depending on how my money went down or up) but nothing still...

So.. I too am experiencing that problem.

And my friend can cheat his way all he wants through that game... I just wanna do it too..

Maybe my problem is simpler since it's just about a flash slots game lol.

If anyone knows how to solve it.. I would like to know too

after a unknown initial value use next scan to filter out the useless addresses using changed/unchanged and keep doing a next scan till you only have a few left so you can start experimenting which one is the right one

thx alot darkbyte, I'll keep trying... I'll find it... eventually.... also I have one question.... any way you can make the debugger so it "hides" better? some games crash after I attach it to a process to see what it accessess it... before using Cheat Engine I used Tsearch... was pretty good but cheat engine is ALOT better... but the debugger on Tsearch doesn't seem to get detected and seems to use less memory for some reason..... I may be totally wrong here though... thx

well i think i have found out what was wrong ( had the same problem as u do) all i did was check the memory scan option from 32 bit to all and it worked Wink

go to settings and make sure you're using debug registers (hardware breakpoints) instead of exceptions.
