I need a really good laptop, so I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. I'm willing to spend 1500-1800$.

dude if you want to spend that much YOU HAVE TO BUILD A FREAKING ALIENWARE! They have little discounts on laptop preorders check it out you can build a serious laptop for that much =)

I have a Alienware laptop and desktop and both are fantastic. I've never had any trouble with games on either, although I don't game a lot on my laptop.

Asus G71G X-1 off newegg, the 17 inch screen is amazing, 9800m gs runs COD 4 fine, 4gigs of ram, and a t9400 2.53 ghz processor. only 1699.99!, blows my old alienware away.

Gateway P7811-FX.

I own one and they're a beast. For only $1250, you get a 9800M GTS, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a P8400 processor (doesn't affect gaming) and a 7200 RPM 320GB HDD. Too bad Gateway realized they weren't making money off them and replaced them with another version with some gimmicks for $1600.
