|
|
I just bought a new mobo and psu (As you may have read my thread about blowing up my old one >_>)
Im sure ive connected everything right but heres my problem:
When i boot the computer up i hear the fans spinnen and stuff; i can open/close cd/dvd drive and sturr, but im not seeing anything on my screen :S
again, im sure ive connected everything correctly
Does anyone recognize this problem??
Edit: i just found something about resetting jumpers or something to reset the cmos
I read something about that in the manual of my mobo but it didnt say it was needed to do to boot the pc up.
Is that something i need to do? and is it easy to do?

is your video card connected if it is your power supply might be to weak try a better one some cards need like 600watter alone which means you'll need like a 1000watt supply to run it if you include the processor and stuff in there.
Like my card said it needs a 500 watt minimum in dual SLI but my 800 watter died on it now i got me a nice 1.2k watt

Its 550 watt with a HD4850
It should be enough
But i tried it with both my hd4850 as with the onboard card
Both wouldnt show something on my screen

Be sure to connect the 24-pin and the 8-pin connectors to the motherboard. Also be sure to connect all power connections that you can to your video card.
What you are describing is the failure of the computer to POST. When a computer POSTs, it will make an annoying beep and the video card will boot and begin displaying the BIOS loading screen.
It sounds to me as if your power supply is insufficient to power your CPU and GPU.
Refer to this for a list of POST failures.

1. look around the video card for a connector. 2. Try to push on the card a little harder and make sure it fits. 3. check google and see if any one else had this problem with the motherboard.

Im sure i connected everything correctly
I also think it isnt because my psu because it still does nothing when i connect my monitor to the on board GPU (With my HD4850 disconnected of the mobo ofcourse)
I think it is the mobo, I found something on google that resetting cmos jumpers or something. I believe there was something in my mobo manual about that, so imma try that. If that doesnt work im just gonna go back to the store or something
Btw: I loled at this one
No beep If everything seems to be functioning correctly there may be a problem with the 'beeper' itself.

it might be the motherboard if nothing happens because if PSU isnt powerful enough it would beep once like all computers do when they boot up. You might want to start looking for a new motherboard

I bought it today so the warrenty is still valid
Imma try to reset the cmos with jumpers first and if that doesnt work im just gonna return it

wattage means almost nothing, rails is what you need to worry about.
OP:
Do you get any post codes?
Reset the bios.
Try with 1 stick of memory.
Try the other PCI-E slot (even though it will fall back to a gimp speed)

Take the board out of your case and try it out. Your board maybe grounded.
