It is a super tiny laptop type computer. 10" screen, Linux OS comes pre-installed on some/most, and XP on others.
The one i am looking at ( ASUS eee PC 1000 ) has 1gb RAM, 40gb HDD + 20gb internet (Also i have a 1tb external hdd...).
The dimensions are 10" length, 7" width, 1.25" height.
It comes with a built in camera. Wireless LAN and wired.
7.5 hours of battery life.
Do you think this is a good investment?
( 475 USD )

since it looks like its 500dollars and works well yeah!.
but in my opinion, you dont need the best laptop, you just need 1 that works well enough to how you feel.
are getting it so you can travel around and have it?

Travel, in-bed shit, school, work etc.
I think i am going with the 1000H, since that hard drive is bigger... Also the 1000H cost less.

Except those have less than half the battery life, don't look as cool, have worse Wireless cards and have smaller keyboards so they are all fuxed up
If it was 10" I would probably think of getting it

uhh... Actually opps, i should probably edit the top thing...
I am going to get a 1000H, which has a 160gb, and it is about 450 after shipping.
There is a 50 USD price difference there and in return i get a nice keyboard, nice screen, a good name (reliable) and a battery life extended almost double...

If you ask me, you aren't really looking for a netbook, but a regular laptop.
People get netbook's for the insane portability. Regular laptops are portable.
After writing that I don't even know why netbooks were made... or atleast named that.

If the keyboard sucks on a 10", i bet it is much worse on a SMALLER keyboard...
and if anything doesn't work, i'll return it. I am a patient person.

"can't get bluetooth headset to work with Ubuntu."
Yes, that's probably because of Ubuntu (which does not come reinstalled) fault... not ASUS's fault...
Though, i doubt you will find a netbook with good keys. I'll keep looking, but the one i want HAS TO BE 10"... HAS TO HAVE A BIG HARD DRIVE... and HAS TO HAVE GOOD INTERNET.... lol
