Hi Im new here, and I was trying to tick the Stealth mode box (kernelmode) in the Settings>Extra tabs
But i get this "DBK32.DLL Error
The driver couldn't be opened! It's not loaded or responding. I recommend to reboot your system and try again." error...
After that, CE will crash.
I've tried disabling all my antivirus programs and rebooting and even re-installing but i still get the same problem..Help?

I always get that error. I never use kernel mode, and still am not sure what its even for, works fine for me without it.

What OS are you running? (E.g vista is not supported)
And you NEED to be running with admin rights. without it the driver will not be loaded

I use WinXp Home Sp2, administrator yes. I use DaemonTools though, and it said something about "don't run me if you plan on running kernel mode debuggers." I wonder... ;)

Same here, I'm using an Admin account and running on Windows XP SP2..
I'm trying to hack Trickster, currently following instructions from this thread : forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?t=23398&start=120

These are the intructions given :
Cheat Engine 5.2

Steps for Cheat engine settings :
1]run cheat engine 5.2
2]click settings
3]go to "extra" tab -
4]Tick "Undo changes to CE"
5]a confirmation pop up box will appear , simply click yes -
6]Tick "Force memory to be writable .."
7]Tick "Use kernelmode debugger options
8]Something will pop up click no -
9]Tick StealthMode(kernelmode) <- I get the error at this part.
10]Something will pop up click yes -
11]A confirm again , click no -
12]A results , click close -
13]your settins should look like this -
14]Click ok
15]Something will pop up , click ok -

Okay, After checking "Use kernelmode debugger options when possible",
I get a message about running the kerneldataretriever program..after clicking Yes, i get another message, "this application will try and find out information about your current system.....its best to save your data before going further, Continue?"
After clicking Yes, i get the same DBK32.DLL error..
After that the callnumberretriever will start and i get this :

Initializing data structures
Opening the windows kernel
No SDTShadow found. So no window stealth possible
Get Processlist
Reading the PEProcess structures
The PEProcess structures could not be read
Done! You can close this window now

Is this a official Cheat Engine downloadable from the site or a ce modified by someone else and forgot to include the .sys file

and still, uninstall your AV, reboot, and then try to install it. Some AV's delete the .sys without asking
