I've been trying to install KAV 2009 but every time i try to install it, it says before continuing you must remove the following software etc.
for example,
it said that i must remove AVG 8 to continue but i don't see AVG 8 anywhere on my drive! i don;t know what to do can someone help me out i'm kinda in a hurry cause i'm making my investigatory project

My friend has the same problem.
We can't remove the object from the registry.
It keeps coming back.

try removing from control panel then use ccleaner to clear your registry

Registry cleaners don't help.
If I couldn't remove it manually or with HJT, it isn't going to cut it.
NOD32 is a good pick also, though. I wonder whyth AVG leaves all those stupid unremovable BHOs around.

You can try spybot search and destroy too, also I second the ccleaner opinion, excellent program.

What you can do is open Control Panel and uninstall like that. Also after you do that go to MyComputer and Click on the drive you normally use and hit search than search for anything that has to do with AVG 8 than run CCleaner. If that doesn't than install Nod32 or just System Recovery.
