well I got xp on my comp and it works fine exept when I try to open emulators and some other files, the comp crashes(restarts) and its bugging me cause I cant get alot of my important stuff to hack open...thank god CE still works! But does anyone have an idea why some programs make it restart? Confused

That sounds like a virus.

Does it only happen when you try to open the specific files, or randomly?
If it only happens when you try to open certain programs, then you should delete them. As that is what might be causing that to happen.

Also:

Download and run "HijackThis". Then post the information you get from the scan here. Or just do it yourself, if you know how. But I suggest you post it here.

Does ur pc restart because if it does just go to bios settings

It could be a hardware problem that you are stressing the hardware too much when you run your emulators etc. How old is your system and have you had your system cleaned from dust or checked up lately? It could be faulty RAM or one of the PCI cards are causing the computer to restart.

It cant be the programs, they use to work fine, Im going to do a virus scan and stuff right now. I dont got internet on this computer however so it has to be something with the comp. Its RAM is fine...and its in good shape. I think it might be a virus...
