I recently installed Norton 360 and it sucked so I uninstalled it and restored back to when I just had the normal Norton Antivirus. It works, but it keeps randomly popping up with this installer thing. Kind of like an MSI because it says:

"Please wait while Windows configures Symantec Antivirus"

And that it finishes and says to put in my CD Installer, etc. I've experienced this before (Windows Live Messenger), but it required a reinstallation of the application. Any suggestions, help?

Try uninstalling both nortons and then only reinstalling AV. Sometimes restoring can screw up an uninstall.

it musn't have restored properly, because installing the norton 360 would have deleted the old one. it's best to uninstall and reinstall it properly.

Personally I don't bother with an AV. Browse smart and manually remove malware if you ever get any.

You can download the Norton Removal tool from Symantec's site.

Agreed. Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and ESET's NOD32 are top of the line if you need this sort of protection.

Although BurningMace makes a good point. If you never go anywhere retarded and know wth you're doing, you'll be fine.
