2gb TMP file in \Cheat Engine directory?

i was cleaning up my computer and found that there was a 2gb .TMP file in the directory where Cheat Engine was intalled. how comes it was there? i did not want to just delete it incase Cheat Engine needed it so i uninstalled Cheat Engine. that didn't delete the files so i just had to delete them manually.
Can anyone tell me what the file was and so if it would have been safe to have just deleted it for Cheat Engine?

EDIT: i also tried resetting all settings by runnning ceregreset.exe in case they were bizarre settings but nothing happened. Sad

it can be safely deleted.
It usually gets deleted when you close cheat engine normally though

any .tmp files can be safely deleted
