What is it for? I just connected it along with the blue cord to the graphic card, but what exactly is it? I remember that my old monitor only had the blue cable.

DVI-D cable.

It goes into your moniter just like the VGA.

What exactly does this DVI-D cable do? Should be connected or not?

The white port (DVI) produces a better image (digital) than the blue (analog).

Remove the VGA (blue cable), DVI (white) gives a better image.

Well does it matter? Maybe your screen is dirty or something. If you have both cables, might as well use the one that claims is better backed by other posters. It won't hurt to just keep it in there.

There is a difference, you just won't notice it.

If he wanted to see the difference, he could take a picture of it and then hold them side by side.

The white one (DVI) is superior. With the VGA cable, the signal is needlessly converted from digital to analog at the graphics card, then back to digital at the monitor. The DVI cable is digital the entire way so in theory gives a better picture, but if quality ADC's and DAC's are used in the video card and monitor then you may not notice a difference. The digital one will give a clearer picture, especially at higher resolutions, and more accurate color, but whether or not you notice the difference depends on the situation.
