Crysis 2 is playable without. Although you could be intrigued by 1.

DA2, no, the events of the first game are borderline irrelevant.
C2, no, the story is 90% new and the backstory shit is explained in 5 minutes. the events of the first game are borderline irrelevant.

Elaborate, please. | The first Crysis is much better. Also it'll help you understand what's going on in Crysis 2.
On a side-note, they shouldn't have gotten rid of the giant flying squid aliens. I don't mind the humanoid ones, it's a nice touch, but they should have kept the others as well.

crysis 2 had a pretty fucking great speech near the end, probably the best bit of writing in the entire game and literally nothing that happens in the first game is important at all besides ALIENS HAPPENED. that's it, where they came from etc is all explained in the second game.
the entire plot of the first game is "you find aliens and koreans are assholes btw ice that mysteriously vanishes in the second game and makes no return"

In DA2, what you're missing from not playing origins is basically some cameo appearances (Flemeth, for instance, was also in the first game, but it's irrelevent that you actually know this). Uploading a save file from Origins to 2 makes your character in 2 say a couple different things. That's basically it.
