How do you define 'bad'. I really think that it's not so bad after all. So if your not an extream gamer it's should be fine.

It does support many games maby not the latest ones with uber and ultra fast animations.. But..

The GMA X3100 can play Crysis (well, barely), and their current flagship model is the GMA 4500/X4500 in the G45 chipset. It's far more capable than the X3100. So no, Intel graphics chipsets don't really suck, if you take their best model.
The integrated graphics chipset that you have is a good amount slower, and isn't supported by Windows Vista, which really puts a cap on its graphical processing ability. If it can't even run Vista, then the chances of it playing modern games are low. But if you aren't going to be playing many graphically-intense games, and you're fine with older operating systems, it should suit you just well.

| Nvidia/ATI > Intel. Dedicated graphics are about 10x better than integrated graphics. For example, a Nvidia 8600 is way better than Intel GMA X3100, even though they were released at about the same time.

That's not even a video card, that's integrated. And yes, the 915's are weak, very weak. Let me put it this way, a PCI Geforce2MX was a huge step up from my 915 back in the day.
