i'd believe that. there's always a bunch of people who believe what others have to say. i personally switched back from xp to vista back to xp, because of my laptop. if i had a desktop computer which was fully supported by vista, and had no hardware or compatibility issues, then i would have stayed with vista.

Vista is still crap, even after all the patches and updates.

I will never upgrade to it. XP ftw! >.>

I actually like Vista, I'm not like that. I don't get all frustrated one thing. I know technology has up and downs so it's ok. I don't even game a lot anymore =]

It's not in my head. Vista is slow and ugly. Why do all my games require better hardware to run on vista eh?

Lame

At launch I would see this as a valid concern, but as of now, with SP1 and latest drivers, this isn't a problem at all.

That is actually rather amusing I must admit.
It's kinda of amazing what little tricks the human mind can play on people isn't it?

It's sad that people who has never tried Vista for themselves believes what those idiots says. I've started using Vista during the public beta days and so far it has not crashed yet and on the day of the launch I've bought 2 version of Vista (OEM version): Home Premium 32bit for my one of my family member's notebook and Vista Ultimate 64bit for my own rig. The notebook comes with a Yonah dual core processor at 1.8GHz, 1GB of ram, 80GB HD and Windows XP Pro. I've formatted that sucker, installed Vista and did some settings changes to it. Now the person who uses this notebook is a complete computer literate. Surprisingly I haven't heard a single complaint or whine about Vista or the user wants to go back to XP.

Now for myself I've got 2 very old hardware a scanner and printer both from HP. When I was using the beta version of Vista, at first I've went with 32bit because I was afraid that my hardware won't work. I wasn't that concern with my softwares because you can set compatibility mode in Vista just like what you can do with XP. My printer works without any problems, Vista detects it automatically and it's ready to go. My scanner on the other hand wasn't so lucky. At first I've went to the HP site to see if there are any sort of drivers for it and there was none, then I've tried Windows update to see if there is any luck, nope. And finally as a last attempt I've tried to installed the scanner through device manager's automatic driver search. The results came out empty handed, but one thing Vista has done was gave me a message saying "Vista was unable to find the driver for your device, do you want to send in a error report"? So I thought to myself what the heck so I've send the report in. A few days later as I was browsing the net a message windows popped up and says "Vista has now found the driver for your scanner, click here to install it". So I've click on it, the drivers installed and viola my scanner works too.

Now that my scanner works I was extremely happy, but my goal wasn't satisfied as the version of Vista I really want to run was 64bit. So I've downloaded the public beta version of Vista 64bit and installed it. As it was installing I knew the chances were slim especially in a 64bit environment. After the installation was done I plugged in the hardware, went online to Vista update, and prayed for the best. When Vista finished scanning for the updates at the bottom of list was 2 additional updates and in it lists my printer and scanner! I've installed it and viola now both my scanner and printer works in 64bit WOOT!

I've now been using Vista for more than a year and I'm loving every bit of it (Even sign up for the feed back program, gave up my privacy for 3 month and got my free gift from microsoft: a retail version of Vista Ultimate 32bit and 64bit. There was other free gifts too including Office Ultimate 2007, Money Plus Premium, Streets and Trips 2008 or Microsoft Student with Encarta Premium 2008.)The sad part with some of you who called themselves with "technical expertise" is a shame because in the past we can never tell your how truly an expert you are or how well you can handle an new OS because every new OS Microsoft comes out it's always the same style and format. Vista on the other hand was a new change, a complete overhall and with those of you who can't handle Vista, truly tells us (who can handle Vista) your true "technical expertise" and that is, you like to pretend you know everything, but reality you guys don't know jack!

For those of you who are scared to use Vista, don't be because it's not as bad as you may think. Don't listen to these idiots when these guys used Vista they most like did the following:

1. Installed Vista tried it out for a few minutes before going to a fetal position, cries for mommy and begs her to bring the system to a shop
and install XP because Vista is giving them a stomach ache.

2. Can't never take the time to adjust the changes to Vista to their personal preferences because of number 1.

3. Ones with iron stomach that went with Vista and still whines like a bitch
because they can't adjust to the new OS, is like having an old camera. They can get great shots out of it and they're extremely happy with their results. Now that they bought a new camera all the images are blurry and what they once had was gone. Now they start to complain my new camera won't take nice shots. It's even worse than my old camera! Now if those idiots would stop whining and adjust their lens bring it to focus, they can bring their picture quality back and if not even better the ones before. Same thing with Vista if you can do some simple adjustments to it, then it can too bring the best experience out of a new OS.

One place to start is to disable UAC as that protection crap is a complete joke.

On the other hand for those boneheads who thinks changing the Vista style menu back to classical will increase performance... Well it does not.

And with Windows 7 being the next OS after Vista (with a complete change, one of them is the pie menu), I wonder how well
you guys can handle the new OS where you guys can barely handle Vista.

But i'm guessing they tested it on a computer which met the requirements to run the game on both vista and xp.

And omg at that guy writing an essay ^.

I run Vista Ultimate on my 2007 laptop with 3 GB of RAM and Intel Centrino 2.6Ghz Dual-Core, with a Nvidia graphic card for laptops. No problem here. I can play most modern games like CoD4, World in Conflict, and even Crysis with 20 FPS. Vista is a little better than XP. On x64 versions of Vista, GameGuard doesn't even load, so if you have a x64 compliant memory editor, you can hack all you want.

playing with 20fps doesn't sounds fun...
