My monitor has a certain resolution range, and display properties has some gay options to choose from.
Any way to make my resolution higher than 1280x1024 without squishing it?

if you install the latest drivers or catalyst you might get some more options.

| You're obviously limited to what your monitor can display.

You are limited by your video card or your monitor man you cant go higher you could try this but i dont think you'll get anything...
(FOR VISTA)
Right click on your background>select Personalize>go to Display Settings>move the resolution slider all the way to the right.

It depends on your video card. If you have an integrated video card, it won't let you because the manufacturers have a set limit to what you can stretch it to in order for it to work. 3000x3000 obviously won't work on a monitor that is 3 inches wide and 30 years old. Technology brings it, but still, you also need the monitor big enough to house it. Pixels have a set size to it too.

Yeah, first it has to have the monitor big enough to hold the resolution. Then you need the video card strong enough to project that resolution.

| Well my monitor is default 1240x1024, but it can go up to 1600x1130, but the options go from 1240x1024 to 1600x1260 so I was wondering if there was a way to tweak it somewhere inbetween.

| install your monitor "drivers", or let the GPU drivers try and retrieve the specs.
