|
|
I'm on a 600-100 dollar budget for a computer. Talking to some of my friends who have much knowledge with computers, they told me i'd get much better bang for my buck if i bought all the hardware seperately, and then built the computer from that. My question is to you people with expertise in the way of computer building, is how hard is it to build a computer? No moniter, just the tower. How long would it take, etc.
Thanks!

My first build took me about.... a couple/few hours...
That is including the part where i stopped to watch TV
It really isnt that hard. You just want to be careful...
Remeber : Touch the case while you do it and stand on the ground! haha
All you have to do is screw in the mobo, screw in the psu, screw in the drives... put any graphics card and what not in... Then plug in the power supply cords. Dont worry, that part is easy... All you need to know is your shapes _________________

It doesn't take that long to put together. My first time putting together a desktop took maybe 2 hours tops, and that was because I was distracted by watching TV.
As long as you put the correct wires in the correct spaces and secure everything, you'll be fine. |

It's a ton easier than most people think. And you can save hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars (as long as you look for good deals). It'll take only a few hours, about 6 at the most for new builders, and about 2 hours for experienced builders. But the amount of time it takes also depends on how much stuff you're going to put in/the stuff. If you have water cooling, tons of wires you have to tie down, and lighting, then it'll take longer. At most, you'll get a few scratches and cuts on your hands, but it's well worth it. Most home-brew cases look arguably better than the ones that Dell, HP, and other vendors offer. _________________

It seems pretty easy. Although a lot of people put more effort into building their computer (tieing wires down, cleaning up, making sure everything looks "neat" etc.) It would take an average person maybe 3-4 hours. I just plug in wires to where they look like they fit. I do have knowledge of what each wire does so no guessing for me xD |

Thanks for your replies! I'm not cooling it or anything fancy (Though my ultimate goal is to be rich enough to afford a 24/7 liquid nitrogen cooled overclocked comp ) so i'll budget in 2-6 hours to build it.
Thanks again!

Many people also post guides on how to do it in google, just fyi.
Some actually have pictures and all that. Just find a guide if you need help with it. And it took me 2-3 hours, lol while watching the tv, which seems common when building a computer... |

Knowing what parts to build the computer with (what video card to buy etc) can take quite a while.
Actually putting it together shouldn't take hours if you have someone to guide you along. It really isn't difficult. _________________

The hardest part is mounting the mobo, and it's only hard if you're somehow incapable of lining shit up. And don't somehow forget to install the risers. |

^^ This seriously was the hardest part of me... i couldnt get the thing in for the i/o shit because the risers lifted it to high...
I thought i broke something and would have to return the mobo But after some HARD pushing it works! _________________
