Both of these are top free antivirus programs but which stands on top?

The answer would be Avast. Why? Because Avast has 7 or 6 real time protection shields that protect you at all times when your computer is on unlike AVG which protection isn't that high as Avast.

Another reason is that Avast has a way higher scanning rate than AVG. AVG scanning just sucks it doesn't pick up crap and even with AVG 8.0 it still isn't as good as picking up trojans as Avast.

AVG may have the easier interface as in simplicity but what it lacks is the protection.

Sure Avast scans slow especially if you have lots of data and your doing a thorough scan it can take 2+hrs its still worth it in the end for the better protection.

Plus heres a comparison of antivirus and Avast is beating AVG. You can explore the site for more in details but i explained most of the basic.


Conclusion- Avast wins over AVG so if you want the better protection switch to Avast.

If you want to go with paid protection like me use kaspersky. Its the damn best paid thing out there. Either that or NOD32.

I disagree, Kaspersky and NOD32 can be bypassed with simple crypters while AVG detected all of the crypters i've used and also AVG has the Resident Shield which scans files/folders as you click on them.
