i have about $800 to spend at newegg (not including shipping) and i need a new gaming computer.
i need the following things:
quad core Q6600 processor
nice video card (100-170ish, preferably a geforce 1)
nice soundcard (50-120ish)
decent mobo
2-4 gigs of ddr2 ram (as much as possible)
fairly good psu (70-120)
it needs to be overclockable.
all good responses get a + or - rep and the biggest hug you've ever seen.

Wink
T.Y. for all responses!

For the video card, a 3870 or 8800gt is right in your price range. I personally would recommend the 3870 due to the better IQ and power management, but both are excellent cards.

Why would you need a quad core for? Don't spend the majority of your money on that. More important parts can get the money. A dual works just fine for like 99% of games.

There is more to a computer than just games. A quad core works wonders with multitasking.

if ur look for an intel mobo, try the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128059

i still dont kno y u need a quad core...
i suggest that u overclock a E2160 or E2160, and buy one of those MSI 8800GT OC graphics card.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=11863187

that wishlist + a monitor and keyboard will cost approximately $800 with shipping and tax.

(im not sure if the wishlist will work.)

The GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L looks great and i hear it lasts for a very long time because it uses all solid caps. Smile
