I was wondering how i could copress a large file like a movie down to a size where i could put it on a memory stick pro duo. im not quite sure how compressing files works tho,,, do u have to change the file type and extention to a .zip??? plz help asap i need movies on my psp for vacation

Even if you compressed it, you would not be able to watch it on your PSP in compressed form.
And no, it is not just rename .zip/.kgb/.rar, You use compression software.

ok, thts wat i thought w.e i cn still fit like one big file on the card no big deal. compression software like winzip right? cuz i still wana compress the files to take them with me then uncompress them on my laptop wen i get there.

what you want to do is convert the files from avi to mp4 so that they are nice and small, ive done a few futurama eps they went from 150mb to 30 - 50 mb.
just search around google for an mp4 converter or use total video converter.
my psp card is only 1gb and i get about 15 - 20 eps on it.

ok ill look for one. right now i use psp video 9, which converts the file to a mp4-avc... is tht the same thng as a normal mp4 cuz it takes up way more than 50mb

Something else you could do is use the Gmail Internet hard drive (5 gigs) to store the files on, and then you could retrieve them from your laptop if you had internet access.

ok i got it to work thts awesome!! 6.61 extra gigs, thts not bad i guess. i would +rep u if i could. thank you very much. n i could even put compressed files on the drive n unzip them wen i wanted to use them couldnt i?
