I'm just curious because I have never heard of this. Why would a system need two drives at the same time?

Eh, I do this kinda stuff at my work placement.
If you could post pictures of the computer screen while doing so.
and how the cords are, I can possibly attempt to help you.

Maybe one is fast but has little storage; the other would be for storage.

Maybe he is trying to run it in a RAID format.
