How can I change an hp value that is a fraction?

For example:

10000/10000

How can I change it to:

1/10000

I've tried entering 10000 in a 4 byte scan, then I damaged the unit, searched for a decreased value, I usually get 5 or 6 results, and none of them match the hp number left.

(I'm using Cheat Engine version 5.4 on Vista)
(I've also finished all the tutorials up to 4 maybe 5 I forget)

health is stored as a float (energy and resources as well)

A one-thousanth would be 0.0001, but your looking at it the wrong way.
I would suggest you make use of cheat engines 'all' scan-type.
This way you will be able to utilize scans for float and byte values at the same time. Will be...easier...for you.

Chase, why the hell are you trying to convert a byte value into a float value?
His value would already be a float, its just the searching that he needs to get right.
Your vid shows nothing but how to change the display of a number by clicking a drop-down box.

Most games, WoW stores it in 4 bytes I think... but it can't be hacked it's server sided.

if you lag, and your health doesnt decrease.... however after the lag spike you die. This is because the data was stored into the server.
Also, if you hack something and it appear modified, but you still die or doesn't work.
