Does anybody suggest getting a 64-bit processor? I just was wondering. And do you think that I should get a 32-bit windows and just get a backwards compatible processor (64-bit), or try getting a 64-bit windows?

64-bit windows will prevail soon. 64-bit has more advanced silicon processes and transistors. I think you would get better performance out of 32-bit as software vendors haven't made the switch from 32 to 64-bit. But if you do switch I'm sure you will be envied but be aware prices are sure to drop when the switch between vendors is made.

Lol. I already know that stuff. Couldn't I just get a backwards compatible one, so I could run a 32-bit OS and have a 64-bit processor?

You could do that and then upgrade to a 64-bit OS later on.

Yea. But I also heard that to really take advantage of a 64-bit processor you should have at least 4gigs of RAM. I'm trying to find the link to the site, but I can't find it anymore

What you all talking about? You'll all most likely have a 64-but CPU anyway...its not a case of "if you do switch"...
If you stick a 64-bit OS on then be prepared for all sorts of incompatibilities with drivers and software.
Oh and you don't 'need' anything like 4 gigabytes of RAM, its just that a 64-bit OS breaks the 3.2gb memory limitation imposed by 32-bit OS's.

Well then that's obviously why the guy said that to take advantage of 64-bit you should have 4 gig of RAM.
@hiroshi
I don't trust because of the community. Plus your response was filled with about as much intellect as a five year old.

It seems like [Psych] knows the most about this topic. All modern CPUs are 64-bit. 64-bit CPUs can run both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. There are a lot of software incompatibilities, I only know of one game trainer that's specifically designed for the 64-bit version of a game. 4GB of RAM is good, but most users won't use much of it.
