I am trying to play my xbox 360 on xbox live while using the wireless-G broadband router by linksys. How am I supposed to hook it up to where I can play my xbox 360 and use internet on my computer at the same time? I have another ethernet looking cable extra if i need to use that. The only way I have gotten xbox live to work is if I connect the ethernet cable from my modem to my router, which leaves my pc with no internet. I put the ethernet cable from my modem to my pc and it has internet, but im left without xbox live. Any help, or is there someway to run a connection through both at the same time? Thank you. +rep for a method that works.

Simple,
-Run an ethernet from the modem to the WAN port on the router.
-Run an ethernet from the XBOX to a LAN port on the router.
-Run an ethernet from the PC to a LAN port on the router (or leave it wireless if it's a laptop)

Well, I'm playing xbox live in my room and the computer is like way down the hall. I have a cable that fits into the ethernet port on my router, pc, and modem. Do I plug a cable from my pc to my router and modem to my router?\
Edit: I ran the ethernet cable from my modem to my router and then I ran a ethernet cable from my router to my pc, but it didn't catch internet. It showed I had a connection though. Any help?

If you are trying to connect wirelessly, do not forget you are going to need a wireless adapter.
If you are trying to connect directly, I will draw a small diagram for you.

This is correct.
Follow these steps and if there is a problem then please reply.
Also, There is no need for wireless internet if you have a desktop PC.
It's slower than the average cable.
Wireless is only good for Laptop.
If i get a laptop im going to have wireless BUT anytime i get near the modem/router ill plug it in using Ethernet to have faster internet.
