|
|
As you've read in the Thread Title...I've got a problem.
Ok Heres the Problem: Explorer isn't recognizing my DVD Drive... So no Drives appear in MY COMPUTER, or any burning software. If a CD/DVD is inserted it will spin and do its thing...but still nothing is recognized.
Basically, all of this happenned RIGHT after I installed AnyDVD. So hmm I thought maybe it was just a Lower/Upper Filter problem in the Registry, so I deleted the files/Made a backup. Still Problem not resolved BUT when I went to boot my Bios picked up my DVD Drive...but the name was all fucked up and I still couldn't boot from it. So I was like w/e..Windows booted and Windows picked it up for that BOOT only ans said it was installed, but nothing apears in MYCOMPUTER, any burning Software or Devie Manager.
So I reformatted using an External DVD Drive.....Re-Formating went smoothly...unfortunately... it didn't work xD
So now I'm wondering if Anyone out there knows what the fuck is wrong with my DVD drive xD
As of now I only have one solution... Take it into Best Buy to let the fucking noobs at GeekSquad steal all my data...and tell me I gotta wait 3 weeks so they can send it in to a repair shop before i can get my laptop back...... I've got about 3 Months of warranty left xD I had bought a 2 year warranty when I bought the laptop so it's about to expire.
BTW this is my 4th time sending my laptop into bestbuy because of previous HardWare problems...AKA i fried my mother board 4 times and the ram chip once...don't know how i did it but w/e
Regardless.. Can any offer any help?
Also...Please don't flame me about having a Toshiba Laptop xD BTW I know I've got a shitty laptop when it is a Celeron M processor....with ATI graphics and 512 Ram...... And I don't want anyone to say buy a new laptop xD
Thanks in Advance

Ok thanks Drysdon because I really don't trust anyone at GeekSquad if you've got any experience with them you'd know what I was talking about

If you dowloaded AnyDVD from torrent or Limewire then your screwed.
I'm a fan of AnyDVD but pretty much all limewire and torrents for AnyDVD are viruses. 2 years ago (I really needed AnyDVD so i downloaded Limewire)I downloaded a AnyDVD and my Avast Av poped up, 3 viruses.
Sorry man, your really screwed. Try 3 or 4 Av's, then try Reformating, if that don't work send to PC shop. If that don't work check your bios, if that don't work get a new DVD and Bios Battery thingy.
EDIT:
Sorry, I hadn't realiesed it was a laptop.
The bios battery thing may be a lil hard do change, same wit DVD but its easier than the battery.

nope I downloaded it off of their site....newayz I had already reformatted... So I'm guessing I'll have to take it into the shop xD thanks anywayz bioshocked. And I'll try scanning for a Virus.
BTW, I even did a System Restore to a Week Earlier, and a 2 week restore with TUneUp PC that undid all registry changes...still didn't work. Then I reformatted..still didn't work. Well thanks anywayz....fucking geeksquad....damn
