Somewhere between obselete and normal. It's somewhat slow, considering the Pentium 4 and only 512MB of RAM. You should be able to play everything except for Assasin's Creed. Most everyone in the mainstream market has a dual core, with about 2GB of RAM (to run Vista), and a mid-end NVIDIA 8xxx series (probably >8600GT).

A total of 1GB of RAM would help XP a lot. But I would consider upgrading the CPU and graphics too, or the entire computer, if you have the money (or play tons of new games).

Newegg.com, a local retailer (except Best Buy - it's actually the Worst Buy; unless you price match). Just know what you are doing (know what speed the RAM is, how many DIMMs are left, and compare prices).

Less than average, but if it does what you need it to then it's all good. I would probably at least throw in another gig of RAM though.

Mine is 2GB RAM, 2.4 GHz dual core CPU, and 8600GTS as my video card.
I consider mine normal.

I consider that high-end... Well maybe not high end, but its all you really need. When i built my computer, i had in mind that i was not going to build a new one for a while 8800GT, Quad Core - 2.4GHz (soon to be 3.1GHz+), with 2GB ram, anything more is an overkill
