no there isnt, unless you made a small password without numbers letter upper and lower case you can brute force it pretty quickly.
Other then that if it is longer then 6 characters it can take hours, days, weeks, months, years

Yes, Always. Programs can't randomly generate words. They must have a list of words to choose from. If there isn't a word list, it's most likely built in.

well, it doesn't necessarily need a "word" list. You can have a list with all lower case on one line, upper case on another, and numbers on another. And if coded correctly, it will be able to read off that.

the method your talking about is dictonary attacking in which you get a generated wordlist from somewhere and use it to test on the file your trying to crack thats not actually brute forcing.
brute forceing does not use a word list, it randomly generates characters,
numbers and symbols depending on your choices in the program your using then it will start from the minmum ammount of chars e.g aaaa and will even eventually it will reach bbbb then will get to pass and four and other worlds if you use the combination of all characters on the keyboars it would even find things like PA$$ and others.
there is also a maximum ammount of letters for the password to generate to however i dont recommend using brute forcing to try cracking any passwords as i havent come accross any that run on full specs of computers now days, if any of you know of any good ones let me know.

The password is still saved in the rar, is it then super-encrypted or something?

Alright to clear this up.
1) You don't need a password list for 'brute-force'. The computer will try 'every' possible combination of letters/numbers/symbols you specifiy in the appropriate program.
2) An attack using a password list is called a 'dictionary' attack.
3) The password in encrypted in two ways:
- They have used their own proprietary encryption algo's since v2.x. When that came out any previous method of instantly breaking the password when down the drain.
- Since version 3, as well as having their own algo's, they implemented AES v3 which is a tough b!tch indeed.
On top of that, .rar archives have the lowest brute-force rate of any of the major compressed archive types.
Like Labyrnth said, its any password over 6-7 characters that you can forget. If you throw symbols/special characters in the mix too it just adds exponentially to the possibilities.
Hope that clears it up
So the weakness is the user-factor...like anything...its always the user that is weakest...

Ofcourse it can, all you need is about 2-3 loops:
1 will loop through every character and check if it reeched 'Z' for example (could be any other character) and if it is, it will check the one from the left until it finds a character smaller than 'Z' and the other loop will incrase the ASCII value of the last character.
