|
|
Well, as the title says, I have a really annoying problem with my internet.
What happens is this:
Code: |
1.I type address in the Address bar, and press Enter/Go
2. The progress bar at the bottom will quickly appear, and then disappear. It thinks it's loaded the page, but it hasn't. Im still at a bloddy white screen.
|
The only way I can visit a site is by clicking "Go" about 15-25 times, and then it eventually loads.
I've done a virus scan, run "WinSocketFix", tried re-installing Windows, firefox, opera and Internet explorer; But none seemed to work.
Any help would REALLY be great (It took me 10 minutes to get to cheatengine.org )
Thanks again!

1. Buy a new computer.
2. Get a computer engineer to work on it.
3. Buy a new computer.

might be more you isp or modem since you have reinstalled everything and its still the same,
sometimes unplugging your modem for 5 or 10 minutes can reset you connection better,
worth a try as it don't cost anything,
it is not your computer thats the problem if it runs programs and games without any trouble, if it had those problems you would have said so,
so blame your isp or modem,
another thing the isp somtimes does is cap your connection if you have downloaded a lot,
lets say you watched a load of films online then you might have exceeded what they think is fair use and so throttle your connection,
in other words your internet provider has restricted, cut down your bandwidth,
if its that then its usually only tempory, how long depends on your isp's policy,
try one of those online speed test things to check your bandwidth
here's one to try but use a few different sites to get an overall idea of your bandwidth
http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
another one but a bit slower my side and maybe not so accurate

can u still play online games without lagging?
run CMD type "ping www.google.ca" and then it should say:
Code: | Reply from 72.14.205.147: bytes=32 time=XXX TTL=247 |
Note: "XXX" is a variable, if it between 1ms to 100ms then your connection is fine.
if it says then ask your ISP for problems

Ok, I tried that, and i got 60ms from "google.com.au", and no packets were lost.
Argh, this is really getting annoying. D:
PS. I'm on a shared network (Not wireless, just through a router), And my other computer works fine. Does that mean it's a problem with ALL my browsers?
