C++, that is why I'm learning it too. But C++ is not for games you would see on a web page, like funny-games.biz.

Wait so.. you want to learn how to make big games or little games?

You can make pretty impressive games just in flash.

What exactly is your goal?

If you want to make an RPG, just download RPG maker. http://tkool.jp/products/rpgxp/eng/

Otherwise, C++ is the best.

I'm going with C++. The RPG maker is interesting but learning C++ will be good for more then just makeing games. Thanks everyone

web-based games are like j/js

real games are made from MSVC++.

show me 1 game made from Delphi (except the one db made)

and make sure that, that delphi game reaches the level of Crysis or near.

Actually, most everything you see is programmed in C, not C++.

You should use what language your comfortable with.
There are some alternative, sdk's specifically created to target making of a game as well.

Game Maker
Multimedia Fusion
Dark Basic & Pro
FPS Creator
Blitz Basic, plus,3d and max
Phrogram
Torque
Genesis3D
DirectX with vb or C++
OpenGL

Numerous things if you just look around.
If anyone is interested in buying something for this 100% legit.
I have Dark Basic Pro + 2 Books for it i will sell you.
I dont need this software and it is brand new only installed a couple of times. DBPro manual vol 1 and the other books is "programming in darkbasic"
100% legit. Images are available.
PM if your interested in this software.

Most game engines these days are mainly C++ and likely some handwritten / optimized ASM for when speed is really needed.

OpenGL is fading rapidly and DirectX is taking over.
