how could i recover the admin password for my windows 2003 server edition pc? i got it from my dads company, but he doesnt know the admin pass...

Does it have a guest account or another account? If so you can change it by going into it.

If you do go to start> run and type in cmd. The command prompt will open, from there go
net user
net user <account name eg. administrator> *


From there it will say "type a password for the user" and then "confirm password".

delete the SAM file through DOS mode

restart the computer, put in a DOS Boot CD/Floppy disc

enter this command "del C:\WINNT\system32\config\SAM"
without the ""

if it doesn't work then try "del C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\SAM"
